The unlocked variant of HTC U Ultra in the USA is currently receiving the July security patch as an OTA update.

The update, which arrives as the build number 1.64.617.2 is based on Android Nougat 7.0. As is the case with any security patch, the update takes care of various security vulnerabilities and brings along fixes to existing bugs. You can also expect performance and stability improvements from the update.

HTC U Ultra was launched in January this year with the Snapdragon 821 processor, a 5.7-inch QHD display protected by Sapphire glass, Android Nougat, 4GB of RAM and 64/128GB memory.

It is advisable to connect to a good Wi-Fi network before downloading the update and keep your handset charged as high as 50 percent while installing the update.

If you haven’t received the update yet, you can check for it manually via the device settings. Go to Settings – About – Software updates.
