The unlocked HTC U Ultra is receiving a new software update in the US. Long time coming, this update brings a new Android security patch to the device.
If you own an HTC U Ultra, you should be receiving the update notification now. The software update version is 1.64.617.17. There aren’t any new features available in this update. It will, however, install the October Android security patch on your phone.
It’s December now, and only now HTC is releasing the October patch. That’s not very good from the manufacturer. Other OEMs have already started delivering the December security patch. Nevertheless, when you get the update notification, do download and install it.
The U Ultra will be getting the Android 8.0 Oreo update, as HTC has already confirmed it. The HTC U11 and U11 Life smartphones in the US and Europe have already received the Oreo update. We will let you know when the update is available.
