HTC U Play goes on sale in India for INR 29,990 ($464 approx.) only

The HTC U Play is now available for purchase in India and is exclusively being sold on Amazon India. Originally, the phone, when announced in February, was given a price tag of Rs. 39,990. However, HTC is selling the U Play for Rs. 29,990 on Amazon, which is a huge price cut.

HTC launched the U Play and the more powerful U Ultra in India in the month of February. The pricing was very high for both the devices, even though they weren’t really flagships. Looks like HTC has realized that and have effectively cut the price for the HTC U Play.

To refresh your memory, the HTC U Play is a mid-range smartphone with a 5.2-inch full HD display, a MediaTek Helio P10 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, a 16MP rear camera, and another 16MP camera at the front. There’s a 2435mAh battery inside, and the phone comes with dual-SIM slots that supports VoLTE.

The smartphone is available in Sapphire Blue and comes with the uSonic earphones that customizes the sound based on your inner ear structure. Out of the box, the phone will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is a little sad. Otherwise, the HTC U Play is a pretty good mid-ranger for the price.
