If things go as HTC has them planned, then we could be seeing the Taiwanese Android OEM push out Marshmallow update for its One M8 GPe (Google Play edition) as soon as this month.
HTC software head, Mo Versi, spilled the targeted date on twitter today. If HTC is able to update its One M8 within a month of Android 6.0’s release for Nexus devices, tan that feat is nothing short of wonderful, even though it’s a GPe device we are talking about.
We would hope for One M9 Marshmallow update to anytime next month then, because it’s safe to assume it’s more than half-ready when ONe M8 GPe gets it. HTC had earlier promised that One M8 users can expect the 6.0 update by the end of this year.

Motorola has set a standard when it comes to major software updates about Android, and if HTC can go toe-to-toe with Motorola, it would be only better for the former — they do need as many plus points as they can gather right now, given the disappointing it has been so far for the company.
Let’s hope HTC is able to deliver the One M8 GPe Marshmallow update by the end of this month, followed with One M9 and regular One M8 6.0 update the in the month of November.
