Looks like the bad times of HTC are still haunting them. The smartphone manufacturer recently posted their October smartphone sales, and things aren’t looking too good for them. The company’s sales revenue dropped by a disappointingly huge 60% from around $1.5 billion ($NT 44 billion) in October 2011 to merely $588 million ($NT 17.2 billion) this October.

With a whopping $NT 60 billion target for the Q4 of this year, they are still 14% short. With one month gone and two left to go, the Taiwanese giant has little hopes of recovering from the perpetual losses they’re going through this year. If history is any proof, the next two months aren’t gonna be too great for them.

With a continuously decreasing popularity on the smartphone market, HTC’s only hopes are the Windows Phone 8 HTC 8X and 8S, which in our opinion aren’t very likely to pick any traction, given the immaturity of the platform. However, HTC’s flagship phone, the One X+ and the upcoming HTC Droid DNA phone with 5-inch screen and 1080p display resolution with 440 ppi, may prove helpful.

Anyway, this quarter is going to be really tough for HTC.
