Following its announcement earlier this week, AT&T has started selling the improved and beefed up version of the much-acclaimed HTC One X, the HTC One X+ starting today. The HTC One X+ is available for $200 from ATT, with a new two-year contract. The HTC One X (minus the plus) is available for $99.
For those of you wondering what makes this device special, it’s not just the + in the name which warrants the additional $100. The HTC One X+ has a quad-core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, a whopping 64GB of internal storage, NFC, a 2100 mAh battery, 1.6 megapixel front-facing camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. The original One X has 16GB of internal storage, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 1800 mAh battery and is still running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Other endowments include a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720) Super LCD 2 display, 1GB of RAM, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video recording and the HTC Sense 4+ user interface. The HTC One X+ comes with AT&T exclusive carbon black finish.
If you’re in the market for a new smartphone, then you can’t go wrong with t he HTC One X+. $200 is a pretty good price, come to think of it, for the value you are getting in terms of top of the line specs, future-proof software version, and the HTC One brand behind it. And if you still find the price tag a bit too steep for your pocket, the original One X is still a very capable phone which you can score for $99 at AT&T.
