The Samsung Galaxy S3 has seen a constant stream of Android 4.1 updates leak, but its direct competitor – the HTC One X – is yet to see a single Jelly Bean update come out for it. But HTC is working on it and will be starting with the Android 4.1 updates for the (quad-core) One X in October, according to Paul O’Brien from MoDaCo, with all the One X’s getting the update before Christmas.
October is also the month Samsung has slated for the Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3, so it seems it will be a joyous time for people in both the Samsung and HTC camp, though there’s still no official word from HTC on the time frame of the update.
Also, owners of the dual-core AT&T One XL variant in the US can expect the update to be delayed a bit compared to the international quad-core variant as is always the case with carrier-specific variants. Expect more info on HTC’s update schedule for their devices in the future, an official announcement should come sooner or later.
