HTC hasn’t always been the most friendly manufacturer when it comes to updating its Android devices to the latest versions of Android. But we’re seeing a change in the company’s attitude recently and them being more friendly like Motorola. HTC now takes updating devices to latest versions of Android seriously and has already promised Android 5.0 Lollipop update for your HTC One Mini.

HTC posted this on twitter in reply to a tweet asking the manufacturer “will the 2013 HTC One Mini be updated to Lollipop?” and to that HTC replied “Yes, however we have no official dates to share just yet. Stay tuned to our social channels for announcements.” Check out the embedded conversation below:

Although Android 5.0 Lollipop update has been confirmed for the HTC One Mini, the manufacturer hasn’t revealed any official dates for the release yet. Our guess is that the Android manufacturers will be pushing Android 5.0 update in a couple of months from today. The update is huge and thus may take time for manufacturers to skin it with their proprietary  interface like Sense for HTC devices. This would be interesting to see how HTC will go about to skin their Sense UI to embrace the material design language in Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Anyway, talk is cheap. Let’s see when HTC will deliver the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its 2013/14 devices.
