Vodafone Australia has revealed that the Nougat update for the HTC One M9 Australia variant would begin testing soon. As seen in the screenshot above, the One M9 testing has been scheduled.
We aren’t sure when the testing would finish and when users in Australia can expect the Nougat update. However, if you’re in the US or Europe, you may have already started to receive the update. The unlocked HTC One M9 got the update in December last year.
The T-Mobile One M9 is supposed to get the update very soon, and so are other US carrier variants of the phone. The unlocked variant also got an update last week that brought several bug fixes and installed the January security patch.
The HTC One M9 is almost two years old now and Nougat is probably going to be its final update. Of course, security updates and bug fixer updates will continue, but don’t expect the phone to run the next major release of Android. Google has today released the latest Android 7.1.2 beta for supported devices.
