HTC Jetstream Specs Confirmed Along With the Pics Leak

The upcoming HTC Android tablet, the Jetstream (known earlier as Puccini), just got caught on camera. Which gets you more than a couple of real-world pics to peek over, but even more good of a news is the confirmation of specs the tablet will launch with. Speaking of which, it’s sure thing that the Jetstream will support that coming-soon LTE network at AT&T — yep! that’s mouth watering, and so is its 1.5 GHz dual-core processor power with support of 1 GB RAM. BTW, the specs aren’t official yet, but no change is expected from those given below.

10.1 inch screen with WXGA display – WXGA is 1280 x 768, which more than your HD 720p display — and that’s so cool!
Powerful dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm processor
1 GB RAM — that, coupled with processor’s raw power would easily take care of any app, live wallpapers, heavy graphic-intensive games, etc you throw at it
Android 3.x (Honeycomb) – the android’s tablet-specific version, that is
16 GB Storage
8 MP rear camera with lower res secondary one in front
It’s AT&T bound and will be the first gadget to support the carrier’s LTE network – which should be incredible
Of course, the rest of spec-sheet is filled with standard features like, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G, etc – don’t bother about that, please!

HTC Jetstream is a tablet to watch out for, especially those who’re at AT&T and looking forward to the carrier’s LTE stint to feed their Internet hunger. But even the WiFi-only version (no mention of it till now, but it’s safe to assume one) looks good too given the spec-sheet. no clue about the price, though, as of now.

But you know, it’s from HTC — which many people will hate and some people will just love, both doing that for the HTC’s build quality in general. I, personally, don’t like HTC bulky metal builds and prefer Samsung’s slim and rich plastic that makes device so light weight. But if you’re okay with metal body (that’s more prone to scratches than plastic) HTC uses in its product, this one is for you.

Specs-wise, while 1 GB of RAM has become one hell of a standard for the premium (read: flagship) android phones and tablets today, the presence of 1.5 GHZ dual-core processor ups the ante — in fact, this would be the one of the first tablets to launch with dual-core 1.5 GHz madness, the other ones being Archos G9 tablets – available in 8” and 10” variety, powered dual-core 1.5 GHz processor by Texas Instruments.

Between the two dual-core processors clocked at 1.5 GHz by TI and Qualcomm, we think the TI’s would be more capable graphically and would be our choice of processor. But, that’s not to say Qualcomm’s offering is any inferior, in fact, the difference in expected to be very marginal — no concrete comparison is available as of now since these devices hasn’t made it to stores yet but for what it’s worth, Google has chosen TI’s processor for launching its upcoming great version of Android v4.0 – the Ice Cream Sandwich, which means TI has a favorable position.
