HTC in their aim to capture the middle segment smartphone market in the otherwise Samsung conquered market of India have come up with the latest dual SIM phone viz. HTC Desire SV. This one rides on the fame accomplished by the Desire series of phones.
Targeted at consumers who favor Dual SIM phones which you can find a lot in India and other Asian countries, this one comes power packed with 4.3-inch Super LCD2 display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset, featuring a dual-core 1GHz Krait processor which has been recorded to be crazily fast in various benchmark tests and a decent 768MB RAM, although I feel 1GB should be a norm for these kind of devices.
HTC has been working on coming out of the stereotype colors of black and white and are experimenting with some bright and funky colors and this one seems no different. With Radical Yellow this phone seems to have a pretty unique color which would attract a lot of youngsters. They also have the orthodox Stealth Black color which will be available for consumers looking for the Black version of it.
It has an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and a BSI sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 28mm lens. It will be running on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, and hopefully should be upgradable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean soon as the roll out for One X and One S has already begun.
HTC has not really had a good financial year although they have released some really fantastic models. Let us hope that these devices bring back the glory HTC once was proud about.
Desire SV will be launched available sometime this month for a decent INR 22590 ($420).
