It looks like cyanogenmod team has started working on Android 2.3 Gingerbread Port. We’ve just spotted a HTC Desire HD running Android 2.3 with cyanogenmod kernel.

Sure it’s an exciting picture to look at and a good news for our Desire HD folks. Stay tuned for more info.
