When it comes to smartphone pricing, HTC’s reputation doesn’t go down very well with consumers. The brand is notoriously known for setting price tags on devices which we believe is way higher than what other manufacturers would deliver for the same device. As such, it is pleasantly surprising to know that the Taiwanese company has dropped the price of two of its devices being sold in India- HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM and HTC Desire 628.
Although, these two smartphones receive a price cut of only Rs 1,000, nonetheless, it is a welcome move by HTC. After the price drop, HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM costs 9,990 while HTC Desire 628 sets you back by Rs 11,990.
HTC’s online store is selling both the products at the discounted price. HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM is listed online in two colors – White Birch and Blue Lagoon. The 16GB model of the device has been put up for grabs, but sadly is now out of stock. This signifies the impact the price cut has had on buyers.
The other device, HTC Desire 628 is very much available and can be purchased. It comes in 32GB variant and two color options- Sunset Blue and Cobalt White.

Both the devices sport the same screen size of 5.0 inch HD display, the difference being a Gorilla Glass 3 on top of Desire 628. HTC has kept the camera resolutions also similar- a 13MP rear snapper and a 5MP selfie shooter.
All other specs in Desire 628 gets an upgrade over HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM. The 2GB RAM of Desire 626 gets upgraded to 3GB RAM in Desire 628. The same is the case with battery and OS. In Desire 626 we find 2000 mAh battery and Android 4.4 Kitkat with HTC Sense while Desire 628 rocks 2200mAh battery and Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense.
