Not so long ago, details of the HTC Desire 12 emerged online revealing what is set to be HTC’s first entry-level smartphone in a while. Now, in fresh leaks, a retail box believed to be for the Desire 12 has also surfaced online, giving us even more details of the phone’s key specifications.
Here are the leaked specs:
- 5.5-inch 18:9 HD+ display screen
- Quad-core MediaTek chipset
- 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM with microSD slot (up to 2TB)
- 12MP/5MP cameras
- 2730mAh battery
- Two nano-SIM slots
- 4G LTE
The highlight of the HTC Desire 12 is no doubt the 18:9 display screen and a liquid back design similar to the flagship HTC U11+, but it’s disappointing that it’s only at HD resolution. Given the screen size, especially compared to other 18:9 devices, we should be looking at a really compact phone.

HTC U12: Rumors, Specs, Release date and more
We don’t know the MediaTek processor that will be used, but it’s most probably one of the new Helio P series system-on-chip. Although not mentioned, we expect to see Android 8.0 Oreo running the show out of the box, but it’s unlikely HTC’s Edge Sense will make it down to the Desire 12.
Given that a retail box is already out on the loose, it’s possible that the HTC Desire 12 launch is just around the corner. Besides, the MWC 2018 is almost here, with all the action set to kick off during the weekend. If anything, we should get to know more details about the release date and pricing sooner than later.
