Google has made Android 8.0 Oreo official. Henceforth, the OEMs announcing the roll out of this latest OS to their devices is somewhat expected. While some of the companies have made this known even before the release of Android O, viz Nokia, others are following suit. One such being HTC.
The Taiwanese giant has officially confirmed that it will roll out the Android 8.0 update for HTC U11, HTC U Ultra and HTC 10. The announcement was made by HTC via a Tweet. HTC added that it’ll soon announce additional details of its update plans as well as more devices to be included. With the reveal of additional plan details, we should get an idea about the time-frame of the release.

The selection of the three mentioned devices for Android O update was a given thing with HTC U11 and HTC 10 being 2017 and 2016 flagship product respectively. Also, HTC U Ultra is a device launched this year itself.
Surprisingly, another product from this year — the HTC U Play –didn’t find a mention in the list. However, we believe that the U Play and some other devices, probably those released in 2016 and 2017, should also get Oreo, as HTC has specifically mentioned that details about additional devices would be revealed later on.
