Where to get Dual Blade Weapons in mid-game

Even after unlocking the martial art, you still need actual Dual Blade weapons.

Primary acquisition methods:

  • Buy from the Peddler (Xiong Da) at Heaven’s Pier for ~500 coins.
  • Defeat Bosses like Heartseeker or Qianye—these can drop Dual Blades as loot.
  • Outpost Challenges — clearing overworld combat objectives sometimes rewards gear chests with Dual Blades.
  • Season Shop — purchase Gear Chests (for a chance at Dual Blades) using Jade Fish.

Dual Blades appear in multiple tiers — e.g., Stormveil Dual Blades (~Tier 16), Ten Directions Dual Blades (Tier 31), and Rhapsody Dual Blades (Tier 56) — so aim for higher tiers as you progress.

Martial Art Requirement: Infernal Twinblades

To use Dual Blades, you must first unlock the Infernal Twinblades martial art, because weapons in Where Winds Meet only function once their corresponding martial art is learned.

Ways to Unlock Infernal Twinblades
  • Steal the skill in Midnight Mercy Sanctum: Go to the Midnight Mercy area and use Skill Theft on the master to learn the art.
  • Join the Midnight Blades Sect: Completing the faction’s join/questline unlocks Infernal Twinblades as a martial art reward.
  • Early quest reward: In some playthroughs, reporting your first Oddity to Qi Sheng may grant access early.

Once you’ve obtained the Infernal Twinblades martial art, Dual Blades become equippable in your weapon menu—look under Dual Blades types and track their quest icon if needed.

How Dual Blades combat works

Combat Basics

Once equipped and the Infernal Twinblades martial art is selected:

  • Your Light Attacks are rapid slashes in tight combos.
  • You build up Karmic Flame as you attack — special skills use this gauge.
  • Loading the gauge lets you trigger Burst/Flame modes (e.g., Flamelash) that enhance stats like crit rate and grant temporary buffs at the cost of HP drain.

Skill Integration

Infernal Twinblades martial art also provides:

  • Dash and Air Attacks, adding mobility and mix-ups to your combo game.
  • Heavy/Martial Arts skills unlocked via your talent tree — these are powerful abilities you’ll use alongside standard dual blade strikes.

Many builds pair Dual Blades with a secondary weapon to capitalize on weapon swapping mechanics for burst damage or control.

Combat tips for Dual Blades

Playstyle
  • Fast and offensive — Dual Blades reward sticking close and keeping up pressure.
  • Dodge timing is key — mistakes are punished due to low defensive stats relative to heavier weapons.
Build Synergy

Dual Blades pairs well with:

  • Rope Dart — complements aggressive hits with pulling mechanics.
  • Sword or Fan secondary weapons for utility or sustain.
