What to know
- There is no dedicated super jump or double-jump button
- Extended jumps rely on holding jump and terrain timing
- Super jump mechanic allows you to climb higher ledges than a normal jump
- The system is built into core movement and may evolve
In Hytale, what players often call a “super jump” is actually an extended jump and mantling system. Instead of a separate ability, the game rewards good timing and positioning, letting you climb higher terrain naturally during exploration or combat.
How super jump movement works in Hytale
Hytale uses a context-sensitive movement system. When you jump toward a ledge that is slightly out of reach, your character can automatically grab the edge and pull themselves up. This creates the effect of a higher or longer jump without adding a traditional double-jump mechanic.
Because this is tied to terrain detection, your angle, timing, and distance all matter.
How to perform a super jump in Hytale
Approach a ledge or wall that is just above normal jump height. Press and hold the jump button. Sprinting is not required.

Jump toward the ledge at a shallow upward angle rather than straight up. If timed correctly, your character will grab the ledge and mantle upward, effectively extending the jump.

Continue moving forward to complete the climb onto the surface. With practice, this becomes a fluid part of normal movement.

What you can reach with extended jumps
Using proper timing, you can:
- Mantle onto ledges up to four-seven blocks high
- Cross wider gaps than a standard jump allows
- Navigate cliffs, ruins, and vertical terrain more efficiently
This makes exploration feel faster and more dynamic without relying on abilities or cooldowns.
Stamina and movement interaction
Jumping itself does not consume stamina, and you can even regenerate stamina while airborne. Sprinting, however, does drain stamina, so combining short sprints with well-timed jumps gives you the best mobility over long distances.

Understanding this interaction is especially useful during combat encounters or dungeon traversal.
Common mistakes when attempting super jumps
- Jumping straight up: No ledge detection
- Releasing jump early: Cancels mantle
- Too much distance: Ledge not reachable
- Expecting a double jump: Mechanic does not exist
Will Hytale add a true super jump later
As of current gameplay footage and early access builds, there is no dedicated double jump or super jump skill. Movement mechanics are still being refined, so future updates may expand traversal options, but the mantling system is the foundation right now.
