You can establish a camp virtually anywhere in Ezo’s wilderness, so long as your horse is nearby. The flexibility is intended to reduce constant back-and-forth travel and let the world come to you.
Where to set up camp safely
Choose a location with ample cover such as tall grass where Atsu can hide while crouched to avoid enemy detection. Avoid setting up camp in areas with frequent enemy patrols to prevent unexpected attacks during rest.
How to set up a camp
Step 1
Find tall grass or a secluded spot where Atsu can safely crouch and remain hidden.
Step 2
Approach the spot and open the camp setup menu, typically by pressing the left directional button or the assigned camp action button.
Step 3
Choose your desired camp options, such as ammo crafting available at the bottom right of the camp menu.
Step 4
Set the camp to rest and craft items as needed, and optionally cook food to receive buffs ahead of battles.
Keep in mind that camps are not usable during missions or while engaged in combat. Safe withdrawal to a camp location before resting ensures uninterrupted rest and crafting.
Using camps for fast travel
Once a camp is set up, it becomes a fast travel point on the game map. Players can open the map, select the camp location, and instantly travel there without the need to ride or walk back manually.
Camping under the stars not only restores health and stamina but also allows playing the Shamasan instrument and cooking to prepare for confrontations. This preparation can be crucial in gaining combat advantages.
