What to know
- The completion percentage only appears after assembling the Farsight item in Act 3.
- The Farsight is found in the Abyss, accessible via the main quest.
- Progress is shown in the Inventory, Crest, and Journal menus after installation.
- You can return to the Abyss if the Farsight is missed—it's not permanently missable.
Once you’ve passed into Act 3 and obtained the Farsight, you effectively unlock the visibility of how much of the game is “done.” Before that, nothing in the UI will reliably show the completion percentage. Below is a step-by-step of how this works and where to find the number once unlocked.
The Farsight item: Key to tracking completion

Hollow Knight: Silksong holds out on showing progress percentage until players reach Act 3 and complete a special questline. Only after acquiring and assembling the Farsight can overall game progress be seen visually in menus.
Once this device is assembled in your home at Bellhart, a summary of completion—across tools, enemies, major collectibles, and upgrades—appears in your save file’s stat screens.
How to get and install the Farsight
Step 1
Reach Act 3 and unlock access to the Abyss via the main quest progression.

Step 2
Enter the Abyss using traversal abilities, such as pogoing off floating enemies, using Clawline through empty space, and mastering ledge-grabs for safe passage through hazards.
Step 3
Climb the vertical chamber until you reach the top. At that point, play your Needolin, which opens the door to Weavenest Absolom.

Step 4
Jump the gap into Weavenest Absolom and collect the Farsight item from the pedestal.

Step 5
(Optional) Check for the Silk Soar super jump ability in the lower room before leaving, as this movement upgrade is nearby.
Step 6
Return to Bellhart, head to your bellhome (located top-left in the settlement), and assemble the Farsight using the central device.

Step 7
After a short cutscene, completion percentage and collectible breakdowns will now be visible in the inventory, crest, and journal menus.
Where to view completion stats in-game
- Inventory menu: Shows total completion percentage.
- Crest: Lists every collected tool and highlights gaps.
- Journal: Documents all enemies encountered and entry completeness.
- Special categories: Relics, Silk Skills, upgrades, and other progress can all be tracked once Farsight is assembled.
Using interactive tools or save file readers
There are community tools such as the Silksong Tracker, which analyze save files to show completion data outside the game. These can be helpful for precision tracking, but in-game methods remain most integrated for regular play.
| Progress Metric | Where Displayed | Requires Farsight? |
|---|---|---|
| Completion % | Inventory | Yes |
| Tools acquired | Crest | Yes |
| Enemy notes | Journal | Yes |
Useful tips for completion tracking
- Missing the Farsight on first attempt is not a concern—it can be picked up later.
- Practice pogo timing for traversal sections if struggling to reach the item.
- Completion status updates in real time after installation, with no need to revisit the Farsight device.
Seeing Silksong’s completion percentage transforms late-game runs, giving clear feedback on every collectible and missed objective. The Farsight is an essential device for those aiming for 100%, and once installed, the menus make progress crystal clear—ready for final clean-up and achievement hunting.
