Ye Shunguang is a burst-focused DPS who centers on building 6 Qingming Sword Force to enter Enlightened Mind. Her goal is simple: unleash high-damage Honed Edge combos like Sunderlight and Soaring Light, then swap out to maintain a safe, continuous rotation. With Verdict active, her damage scales with enemy stun multipliers, making timing and setup crucial for maximizing her carry potential.

Build Qingming Sword Force

Ye Shunguang needs 6 Sword Force to enter Enlightened Mind. You generate it by completing Basic Attack combos, chaining Dodge Counters, or timing a Perfect Special for extra gauge. EX Special (Gale Suppression) also grants a full stack, making it useful for the final charge before swapping. Note that Quick Assist does not generate Sword Force.

Enter Enlightened Mind

There are two main ways to enter Enlightened Mind:

Entry Skill (Hold Basic Attack)

When Ye Shunguang has 6 Sword Force, holding Basic Attack lets her enter Enlightened Mind and immediately activate Verdict, enabling her enhanced burst capabilities.

Ultimate (Chasing Storms)

Chasing Storms costs 3,000 Decibels to use. Activating it grants 6 Sword Force and instantly puts Ye Shunguang into Enlightened Mind, setting her up for her full burst rotation.

Enlightened Mind lasts 16 seconds and pauses when she’s off‑field.

How Verdict - Ether Veil works

When Ye Shunguang enters Enlightened Mind, she activates Verdict, unlocking key damage bonuses:

  • All Physical damage is converted into Honed Edge damage (and still scales with Physical damage buffs).
  • Enemies gain Veil Vulnerability, increasing the damage Ye Shunguang deals to them based on their current stun damage multiplier, capped at +110% bonus damage.
  • This bonus is snapshotted the moment Verdict activates, meaning any stun-multiplier buffs applied before she enters Enlightened Mind are fully retained.
  • Veil Vulnerability only applies to Ye Shunguang, off-field allies still require enemies to be in an actual stun phase to gain bonus damage.

This makes proper setup before entering Enlightened Mind critical for maximizing her burst damage.

Enlightened state moves

In Enlightened Mind, she starts in the air and spends Sword Force on strong moves and finishers.

Sunderlight Combo (Basic Attack)

  • 2× Basic → two aerial slashes.
  • 3rd Basic → Annihilation (consumes 2 Sword Force, goes to ground).
  • 4th Basic → Maximum Slash (consumes 1 Sword Force).
  • This uses 3 Sword Force; do it twice per Enlightened state.

Soaring Light (EX Special)

Holding Special Attack consumes 1 Sword Force to unleash Soaring Light, delivering a rapid, high-damage strike. Once the attack ends, Ye Shunguang automatically follows up with Skyward Ascent, launching herself back into the air to smoothly continue her combo.

Finishers

Holding Special Attack with no Sword Force triggers Ye Shunguang’s finisher, Return to Dust or Cleaving Heavens, and automatically exits Enlightened Mind, capping off her burst rotation.

How to Swap In and Out

Follow this setup to allow Ye Shunguang to maximize uptime, maintain her burst rotation, and safely swap in and out during fights:

Optimal Times to Swap Out:

  • During Sunderlight aerial slashes or Skyward Ascent—when swapped back in, she automatically performs Annihilation.
  • After initiating Maximum Slash—she can tag out, though follow-up safety isn’t guaranteed.
  • At the start of any finisher—swap out immediately to maintain positioning and avoid risk.

Swapping Back In Safely

  • Use Dodge Counter upon re-entry—this transitions into Skyward Ascent, putting her back in the air.
  • Follow up with the second Sunderlight combo for continuous damage.

Enlightened Clean Exit (Perfect Dodge)

  • While in Enlightened Mind, press Special just before taking a hit to trigger a Perfect Dodge.
  • Then, chain Basic Attack → Maximum Slash → Basic Attack → Skyward Ascent for a smooth, safe re-entry and continued combo flow.

Mastering Ye Shunguang

Focus on building 6 Sword Force and entering Enlightened Mind after allies boost the stun multiplier. Unleash her full or shortened combo, swap out, then bring her back in to repeat. Pair her with a Veil-supporting ally and a burst DPS, and prioritize Crit DMG and ATK to maximize her already high base Crit damage, perfect for consistent, high-impact rotations.
