- The perfect recipe is 6 packets of sugar + 1 packet of yeast in a full 30‑liter bucket of water.

Where to find the bucket for Kilju
The kilju bucket is in your apartment in Peräjärvi, usually in the bathroom or kitchen area near the sink or shower. If it’s missing, check around the house or near the outhouse/landfill; it’s a large plastic bucket with a lid that can hold about 30 liters of liquid.

How to buy ingredients for Kilju
Head to the PSK Fuel Station to buy what you need for one batch:

- Sugar – Buy 6 packets (Teimo’s sugar, around 6.95 mk each).
- Yeast – Buy 1 packet (around 8.95 mk).
- Juice bottles – Buy juice and drink it to get empty plastic containers, or loot empties from the landfill to store the finished kilju; 20 bottles is enough for a full batch.

How to brew Kilju
Step 1
Take the bucket to the shower in your apartment and fill it with water until it’s completely full (about 30 liters).

Step 2
Add all 6 packets of sugar and 1 packet of yeast into the bucket.

Step 3
Put the lid on the bucket and close it tightly so it’s airtight.

Step 4
Let the kilju ferment undisturbed until it’s ready. You’ll hear bubbling and popping sounds as the mixture works, which lasts for about 2.5 hours of real-world time. Once the sounds stop completely, fermentation is finished and the kilju is ready to use.

Step 5
Take your empty juice bottles and dip them into the bucket one by one until they fill. You’ll know a bottle is full when the bubbling stops and the liquid settles.

How to bottle kilju
- Once the bucket is silent (fermentation finished), open the lid.
- Take your empty juice bottles and dip each one into the bucket until it fills with liquid.
- Cap each bottle immediately after filling to keep the batch clean and prevent contamination.
- Store the bottles somewhere safe (like a box or shelf) until you’re ready to sell them.
How to sell Kilju to Jouko
Step 1
Wait until the evening (after about 7 PM), then take your kilju bottles and head to Jouko’s house next door once he’s home.

Step 2
Place all the kilju bottles on the table in front of Jouko and wait while he inspects them. He pays based on quality, about 160 mk for perfect, 120 mk for sub-par, and 60 mk for bad bottles, then deducts roughly 20 mk per bottle as his cut, meaning a perfect batch nets around 140 mk per bottle.

Step 3
Occasionally, Jouko will ask you to drink one bottle with him before paying. If that happens, drink a kilju on the spot, and he’ll pay you immediately afterward.

Kilju tips & rewards
- A full batch of ~20 perfect bottles earns around 2,800–3,000 mk, making kilju a solid early-game money source alongside taxi or firewood.
- Always use 6 sugar + 1 yeast in a full bucket for the best quality and payout.
- Do not open the bucket during fermentation, wait until all bubbling stops.
- Sell bottles from the same batch together; mixing batches lowers quality and pay.
- Keep Jouko happy: bad or mixed kilju can make him angry, and he may slash your tires or damage your car.
