A few weeks ago, OnePlus started recruitment for OxygenOS 16 Closed Beta Testing for the OnePlus 13 and 13s, with only a limited number of participants getting in the program.
Ever since then, users have been waiting for an Open Beta for the 13 series. And with the official reveal date for the OxygenOS 16 set for 16th October, 2025, Applications for the Open Beta for the beta program, which is widely seen as the final testing phase before the public release on October 16, includes the entire OnePlus 13 series (13, 13s, and 13R), the OnePlus 12 series (12 and 12R), and the company’s only foldable, the OnePlus Open.
Before you apply for the update, make sure your device is on the corresponding software build. If not, you cannot install the update.

Warning For Users:
OnePlus has strongly advised users to beware of the risks that come with running pre-release software. Bugs, lagging performance, heating issues, and higher-than-usual power consumption are normal and are mostly temporary side effects as the new OS performs background optimizations.
Users who rely on their phone for work or daily essentials should wait for the eventual stable release, which typically follows the open beta phase by a few months.
Users are recommended to do a full data backup is highly recommended before installation.
How to Apply for the OxygenOS 16 Open Beta
The process for applying for the Open Beta is simple but requires your device to be on a specific, up-to-date OxygenOS 15 build. You will also be asked to complete a questionnaire, and your eligibility will be determined from the score you get out of 100. Users can try the test 3 times, and the latest test will be considered the official entry, not the highest-scoring one.
- Open the Settings app on your eligible OnePlus device.
- Scroll down and tap on System & update.

- Tap on Software Update.
- Tap on your OxygenOS version banner. Keep in mind that it might say "Up to date"
- Look for the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen, then tap on Beta Program.

- The Beta Programme Page will open, and you will see Close Beta at the bottom. Do not worry, even though it says Closed beta, the application is for the open beta.
- Take the quiz. You can use ChatGPT to score the highest points, thus increasing your chances of getting into the open beta.
- Then you wait once submitted. You will get notified if you get selected, and when the beta package is available for you to download.

- Open Settings.
- Go to About device, then Version.
- Tap "Build number" 7 times. This enables "Developer Mode," which you need to turn on if you wish to rollback (you might have to enter your phone's PIN/password too).
- Once you have done all these steps, the option to "Local install" will be visible once again in Settings. From here, you have to tap About devi,
The following packages will rollback your device to OxygenOS 15, and will wipe all your data. Neither we nor OnePlus will be responsible if you get excited and lose your data because you didn't read the warnings.
Only Indian rollback ZIPs are available, as other regions haven't received the OxygenOS 16 beta yet.
