HTC U11 is powered by the mighty Snapdragon 835 processor, which is arguably the best processor t power a mobile device right now, but that cannot be taken as a guarantee against device never ever hanging up on you.
There may come a time when your beloved HTC U11 stops responding to touch or button presses, and you’re left wondering what to do — especially when you can’t take the non-removable battery out of the device either.
Continuous use of the device for period, or bugs in the system, or installation of faulty app, could cause your HTC U11 to hang or become unresponsive to touch. If such an event were to happen, you will have to restart or forcefully shutdown your smartphone. Normally, this problem could easily be rectified by removing and reinserting the battery, but the days of removable batteries are now prehistoric.
Whatever the reason behind why your HTC U11 stopped working, here’s how you can get it back to working condition.
HTC U11 force restart and shutdown
- Press the Power and Volume Down buttons together for about 12 to 15 seconds.
- When you feel the device vibrating, let go of the buttons.
- Your U11 would restart now.
- To shutdown, first wait for it to power on completely. Now, hold the power button to bring pop-up menu, and choose Power off.
It’s as simple as that. Your device will boot back to being as good as new.
The HTC U11 is by no means a mediocre smartphone. It has top-notch hardware and performs phenomenally. But all electronic devices are susceptible to failure or bugs. Your device may have become unresponsive after a prolonged gaming session or from continuous use in direct sunlight.

It’s a good habit to restart your device at least once in few weeks to spruce up its overall performance. And ensure that your device is up to date to get rid of any bugs. It’s also a good idea not to use it in places which are excessively hot. Things like leaving your device to charge under a pillow could cause the body of the smartphone to heat up too.
