How to Find the Yeti in GTA 5 Online

The Yeti Hunt is part of GTA Online’s seasonal events, usually running around the holidays. It’s a hunt in the snowy hills of Raton Canyon, where you follow a series of clues to track down a Bigfoot‑style Yeti and earn a unique outfit plus a $100,000 cash.

How to start the Yeti Hunt

In order to make the Yeti Hunt event trigger, you'll have to drive or fly into the mountains in the north near the border between Fort Zancudo and Paleto Bay in Blaine County.

After some time, you’ll get a text from Tanner about a “strange beast,” which marks Raton Canyon on your map, head there to officially start the hunt and activate all five clue locations.

All five Yeti clue locations

To track down the Yeti, you’ll first need to find five clues scattered around the area. All of them are located in the northern part of Raton Canyon. You can collect them in any order, and each clue rewards you with $10,000.

Deer carcass

This clue is located at the far western end of the canyon near a narrow part of the river. You may need to swim or carefully climb down from the cliffs to reach it, approach slowly to examine the carcass.

Body Parts

Go to the marked spot and look for a cliff with a broken tree. You’ll find the body parts lying next to the fallen tree, inspect them to collect another Yeti clue.

Car Wreckage

This Yeti clue is located just east of the search area’s center. Drop down from the abandoned bridge, and you’ll spot a rusted, wrecked car. Investigate the vehicle to collect the clue.

Tent

This bloodied blue Tent clue is found slightly east of the deer at a small campsite. Head to the tent and interact with it to collect the clue.

Torn Shirt

This clue is located north of the search area’s center. Follow the dirt path down into a ditch, where you’ll come across a wrecked car next to which will be a blood-stained white shirt, inspect it to get the clue.

How to find and fight the Yeti

Once you’ve collected all the clues, the Yeti will only appear at night, between 9 PM and 6 AM in-game. Look for the red skull icon or marked circle on your map in Raton Canyon, then travel there on foot or by vehicle, enter the circle, and the Yeti will spawn and attack you.

To defeat the Yeti in GTA 5 Online, use high-damage weapons like C4, rockets, or the Heavy Sniper Mk II. Stay mobile using a fast vehicle or cover on foot, keep your distance, and focus on explosives or sustained fire to take it down quickly.

Rewards from the Yeti Hunt

Completing the Yeti Hunt gives you:

$100,000 total ($50,000 from the five clues, $10,000 each) and $50,000 for killing the Yeti.
A unique Yeti / Bigfoot‑style outfit for your character, wearable in the wardrobe.
