What to Know
- To craft ladders, you must progress through two different crafting stations: the standard Workbench and the Builder's Workbench.
- The primary raw materials needed are tree trunks (logs) and stone.
- Ladders are used for vertical traversal; simply walk into them to climb up or down.
Ladders are essential for exploring vertical environments and navigating your multi-story builds in Hytale. Like doors and other processed wooden items, they require specific crafting stations to create.
How to craft a ladder in Hytale
Follow the steps given below to craft a ladder in Hytale.
Collect your materials
You will need a combination of wood and stone to build the necessary tools:
- Tree Trunks: Chop down trees to collect at least 10 logs.
- Stone: Mine stone blocks from the ground or caves to collect at least 6 pieces.
Craft a Builder's Workbench
Crafting a ladder requires a specific progression of tools. You will first need to craft a Standard workbench. For this, press Tab to open your pocket crafting menu. Use 4 tree trunks and 3 stone to craft a Workbench.

Once you have a workbench, press F to open it.

Select the Builder's Workbench icon. You will need 6 tree trunks and 3 stone to craft this.

Crafting the Ladder
Once you have placed your Builder's Workbench, press F to interact with the Builder's Workbench.

Place your tree trunks into the Input slot.

Look for the ladder icon (often labeled as "Lumberjack Ladder") in the output options.

Click Craft to add the ladders to your inventory.

How to use Ladders
Equip the ladders from your inventory and right-click on a vertical surface to place them.

To use a ladder, simply walk directly into it. Your character will automatically climb up or down based on your movement.

Ladders are a fundamental utility in Hytale that require a Builder's Workbench to produce. By following the standard crafting progression, you can easily create enough ladders to reach any height in your world.
