How to start the septic job

The septic pumping job is triggered by a random phone call at your home landline.

  • Wait until the phone rings in your kitchen, then answer it and let the caller finish their message.
  • If you hang up too early, the job won’t register and no map marker will appear, so just listen until they stop talking.
  • Once the call ends, a new location marker will show up on your map, pointing to a septic tank that needs pumping.

How to prepare the Gifu tanker

The Gifu is parked at the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Peräjärvi and can be used at any time. Start it like any other vehicle, turn the key, turn on ignition, and let the engine warm up. Before leaving, check that you have enough fuel and that the engine is running smoothly. When you reach the customer’s property, park the truck with the front positioned about 1–3 meters from the septic tank, leaving enough space to work comfortably with the hose.

How to pump a septic tank

Once you arrive at the marked location, the actual pumping is straightforward but needs a few precise steps.

Step 1: Open the septic tank

Find the grey, square lid on the ground, this marks the septic tank. Carefully lift it off and set it aside in a safe spot so it doesn’t roll away or fall back in.

Step 2: Connect the hose

Go to the back of the Gifu and remove the hose from its holder. Lower it fully into the open septic tank until it reaches the bottom, placing it too shallow can cause the pump to fail or not start.

Step 3: Start the pump

Get back into the Gifu’s cabin and switch on the hydraulics using the control near the driver’s seat. Use the hand throttle or gently rev the engine to keep the pump running, if your character starts coughing, the pump is working. Continue pumping until the homeowner comes out and confirms the tank is empty.

Step 4: Disconnect and collect payment

Return to the septic tank and pull the hose out. Coil it back onto the Gifu and secure it properly. Then speak to the homeowner, or go to the marked payment spot, to collect 1,200 mk in cash.

How to empty the Gifu at the treatment plant

The Gifu can hold about 10,000 liters of sewage, which is roughly 4 septic tanks’ worth.

  • When the Gifu’s tank is full, drive back to the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Peräjärvi.
  • The plant is only open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00; don’t try to dump outside those hours or you’ll get fined.
  • Pay the disposal fee at the front desk, then back the Gifu into the designated bay and empty the tank.

Tips to maximize profit from septic jobs

  • Stack 3–4 septic calls before leaving to empty multiple tanks in one trip.
  • After pumping 3–4 tanks, drive straight to the treatment plant to unload and save fuel and time.
  • A full Gifu run nets about 3,000–3,500 mk profit after fuel and disposal costs.
  • You earn 1,200 mk per tank, with no risk of being fired or failing the job.
  • Use septic jobs early–mid game to fund repairs, fuel, and basic upgrades.
  • Keep it as a safe fallback job when you need quick cash without risking your main job or taxi work.
