What to know

  • Natures affect how your Pokémon’s stats grow and perform in battle.
  • You can change nature effects using special Mints, available later in the game.
  • The Mint system lets you customize your Pokémon’s strengths without breeding.
  • Choosing the right nature boosts your Pokémon’s core role, like offense or defense.

After catching a Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you might notice its stats lean in certain directions. That’s because each Pokémon has a Nature, which affects how their Attack, Defense, and Speed stats scale. The good news is — you can change these stat influences using Mints, making it easier to optimize your Pokémon without endless catching or breeding.

How to change Pokemon natures with mints

  • Navigate to one of the mint vendor locations. Browse the available mint selection from different vendors, as each may carry different nature-changing mints.
  • Purchase the mint that corresponds to the nature you want your Pokémon to have - each mint is named after the nature it will change your Pokémon to.
  • Open your bag and select the mint item you just purchased. Choose the Pokémon whose nature you want to change and use the mint on them.
  • Confirm the nature change - this effect is permanent and will immediately alter how the Pokémon's stats grow.
