Music is a big part of Instagram. Users regularly add songs to their reels and stories, and even the profile page, which helps everyone discover new music. Now, Instagram is collaborating with Spotify to make it easier to add songs you like on Instagram directly to your Spotify library. Here’s how to go about it.
Instagram now lets you add songs to your Spotify library directly
The feature is part of a recent update to both Instagram and Spotify. So make sure to update the apps first. Then follow these steps:
- When you come across a song you like on Instagram, tap on it to get more information.
- You’ll see a new Add button next to the song preview. Tap on it to add the song.
- You’ll be prompted to link your Spotify account the first time. Tap Link Spotify. Then tap Agree.
- Once linked, the song will be added. The ‘Add’ option will change to ‘Added’ and you’ll also see a notification at the bottom telling you the same.
- The song will now be added to your Spotify library and will be available in your Liked songs.
The feature is available to users across the globe on both iOS and Android. It also works for all Spotify users, both Free and Premium members.
Previously, Instagram and Spotify were also reported to be working on a feature that would let you continuously share the songs you listen on Spotify to your Instagram profile. If all goes well, this partnership could be one for the ages.
