The native Google Plus apps for both,Android as well as iOS, have been updated by Google today to v3.2. Users of Google Plus on both platforms should be happy with the kind of improvements that this update brings. Let’s have a look at what has changed.
The key change that this update brings to the table is support for Google+ pages, which both versions (Android as well as iOS) have received. This means that page owners will now be able to view, post, and comment from their accounts using their mobile devices. This is definitely a welcome addition which was on the wish-list for a lot of Google+ users. Google claims this was one of the “most highly requested” features byu mobile G+ users. Moreover, this is also a critical improvement if Google+ is to take on Facebook in the marketing world.
While it is natural to expect that Google would pay more attention to the Android app, iOS version has by no means been ignored. In the case of this update, the Android version has received a smaller update which brings the following features in addition to support for pages:
- New Home Screen widget re-design
- Discover people and topics more easily using ‘Find people’.
- Access photos from posts with 1-click
- Support for iPhone 5 and iOS 6.
- Ability to edit posts
- Ability to Save photos to Camera Roll
- Ability to search for people and posts on iPad.
If you haven’t tried Google+ for Android yet, this is a good time to start. You can download it from the Google Play Store.
iOS users can download it from the AppStore.
If you already have Google+ installed on your device, go ahead and update it, check out the new features, and let us know what you think.
