Google has announced that it will start seeding out the latest March security patch update to its premium smartphone Nexus 6P next week. To be precise, the Android 7.1.1 powered device will start receiving the latest monthly update from March 7.

Arriving as build N4F26T, the new firmware update will be rolled out gradually over the air. In the first three days, 10,000 randomly selected Nexus 6P users will receive the update. These selected users will be alerted via FOTA Push Message. And if they miss out on this, they will be required to check manually for the update which they can do by heading to Settings » About device » System Updates.

From the fourth day to the thirteenth day, an additional 10% of the remaining pool will get the update each day. Finally, on the fourteenth day, the update will be complete with all devices becoming eligible.

Although the file size of the update is small and stands at only 39MB approximately, it is recommended to plug your phone into power or ensure that it’s fully charged so that you have ample power to complete the update.
