Google has launched the Gemini app in India, bringing the AI Assistant as well as the Gemini Advanced service to millions more. Users in India will be able to access Google’s AI models in nine Indian languages – Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. 

Earlier, Gemini was available only for Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices. Now, the AI assistant will be available on a wider range of devices. 

Android users in India can now download the Gemini app from the Play Store or opt in via Google Assistant. iOS users will be able to access Gemini directly from the Google app.

Along with the Gemini chatbot app, Google is also introducing Gemini 1.5 Pro to Gemini Advanced in India. Gemini Advanced will have new capabilities that allow a 1-million token context window, as well as document uploads and data analysis features. Additionally, users will be able to access Gemini in Google Messages as well, though this will only be available in English for now, and on devices with 6GB of RAM or higher. 

Apart from India, Google is launching its Gemini service in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Turkey.
