What to know
- Android users can now reply to a conversation from the bottom of the screen, without having to open a new ‘reply’ screen.
- You can still access the full reply screen by tapping on the expand button in the ‘reply’ box.
- The update is currently rolling out to Android users globally. iOS users might have to wait a little longer.
Thanks to a new update, Android users can now reply to their emails even faster. Now, when you open an email, you’ll see a new ‘Reply’ option that will let you type and send your reply without having to open a new screen. Of course, if you want to craft a longer response, you can still tap on the expand option to access additional formatting options.
Earlier, when you opened an email, you had the option to ‘Reply’, ‘Reply all’ or ‘Forward’. Tapping on one of them opened a new reply screen for you to compose your message. Now, you won’t be taken to the full compose screen unless you tap on the expand button.
The feature is rolling out to Android users. iOS devices will receive the same via an update later this year.
