Lately, the Gionee Elife E8 smartphone got leaked with premium specifications as the device surfaced on the TENAA database. Now, it seems like the handset has been officially announced by the Chinese manufacturer.

The Elife E8 has been launched by Allview, a Romanian firm that is known for its integration of Chinese hardware into the country. The device has been launched in the region with the moniker Allview X2 Xtreme and hence, it is the Romanian version of the Gionee Elife E8.

Priced equivalent to $554, the Allview X2 Xtreme is Gionee Elife E8 with a different brand name. The device boasts of a 6 inch quad HD 1440p display and draws power from a 64 bit 2 GHz true octa core MediaTek MT6795 SoC teamed up with IMG G620 graphics unit and 3 GB of RAM.

There is 64 GB of default memory capacity in the Allview smartphone and it can be further expanded by another 128 GB with the help of a micro SD card slot. The X2 Xtreme features a 23 MP main camera at its back with support to capture 4K videos and there is an 8 MP front facer onboard for video calling and clicking self portrait shots.

The Allview X2 Xtreme has a fingerprint scanner at its back and the device is fueled by a 3,500 mAh battery. The is preinstalled with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and measures 9.6 mm in thickness.

The Allview smartphone will be going on sale in Romania on August 15. Gionee is expected to unveil the Elife E8 model today and we will get to know more details regarding its availability soon.
