How to reach the Smoky Mountains hot spring

Getting to the spring may involve platforming, climbing, or exploration. Use the following as a guideline:

Step 1

Smoky Mountains is located in the Ishikari Plain region. Scan the map for unexplored areas in or near White Den Woodlands.

Step 2

Watch for steam effects in elevation zones (cliff tops, ridges). Steam often signals a hot spring beneath or behind rock faces.

Step 3

Approach suspected rock faces and look for handholds or ledges you can grapple or climb.

Step 4

Make your way upward or traverse ledges to reach the pool area. Sometimes the path circles around rather than going straight up.

Step 5

Once at the spring, interact with it (i.e. enter the pool). Your character will reflect and receive the health boost.

Hot springs in Ghost of Yotei let Atsu rest and reflect, and doing so rewards her with a permanent increase to maximum health. Finding all 16 hot springs is also tied to the Body, Mind, and Spirit trophy.
