Ghost of Yotei features several companions, but Shino the bear stands out as one of the more memorable ones. Unlike traditional game companions, Shino only appears during a short quest and does not permanently follow the player. How to meet and befriend Shino the bear

The journey to meet Shino begins when traveling northeast from Yotei’s Shadow Inn, following Serpent’s Pass River to Prospector’s Camp.

Here, Toku will engage the player with a tale and a request that opens the side quest "The Loss We Carry."

This involves retrieving a charm that Toku sold to a scavenger. After completing this quest, Toku asks you to interact with Shino.

How to feed Shino and find the hidden weapon

To befriend Shino, interact with him and then feed him fish from a basket nearby twice.

Fish can be collected from traps along the river if needed. After feeding, follow Shino.

He will lead you to a special weapon kit for the katana, called "Toku’s Untamed Loyalty."

This unique reward ties into the quest narrative and is a key reason to engage with the bear.
