Location of Junpei the Snatcher
Junpei's hideout is accessed through Boar's Eye Cave, located between the Niikappu and Nupur Rivers in the Saru Plains region of Tokachi Range. The cave entrance is marked by a man standing before a rock. Players will encounter another bounty hunter who offers to team up but eventually attacks. After defeating this hostile, proceed to the Suspicious Thicket inside the cave.

How to find and complete Junpei the Snatcher bounty
Step 1: Approach Boar's Eye Cave
Boar's Eye Cave is in the northeast Tokachi Range. Look for its entrance marked by a man in front of a rocky outcropping.

Step 2: Deal with the rival bounty hunter
As you approach, a rival bounty hunter will offer to split the bounty, then turn hostile. Defeat him to continue.

Step 3: Enter the Suspicious Thicket
Climb into the Suspicious Thicket area within the cave. You’ll find several guards — challenge them to a Standoff, then finish off any remaining enemies.

Step 4: Descend into the tunnels
Drop down the ladder and make your way through the underground tunnels. You'll face more of Junpei’s men — clear each room as you go.

Step 5: Free the prisoner
At the tunnel’s end, you’ll find a Matsumae prisoner. Free them before proceeding.

Step 6: Return to the surface
Make your way back above ground with the rescued prisoner. As soon as you emerge, Junpei and new enemies will appear for the final showdown.

Step 7: Prioritize threats
The final fight includes Junpei (uses a spear), a ronin with a musket (highly dangerous at range), and a brute.
- Take out the gunner first (rush with katana or use your bow).
- Next, target the brute using your Odachi.
- Then, duel Junpei directly.

Step 8: Defeating Junpei
Junpei’s spear attacks have visible parry glints. Use dual katanas for counterattacks. Timing your parries or dodges is key — Junpei’s moveset is similar to other spear foes in the game.

When can you find/activate Junpei the Snatcher bounty?
You don’t need to wait for a specific time of day or story milestone: as soon as you approach Boar’s Eye Cave in the Tokachi Range, the bounty triggers automatically.
It’s listed under the Tokachi Range bounties in the game’s bounty board or bounty tracking menus.
That said, you may want to ensure you have progressed enough in the game to safely handle the enemies inside the cave before attempting it (better gear, health, etc.).

Why this bounty matters
“Junpei the Snatcher” is one of the optional but valuable side objectives in Ghost of Yotei. While not essential for the main story, it rewards you with coins and adds to completion. The automatic trigger means you don’t have to hunt down a quest giver — just exploring Tokachi Range is enough. Because the reward is modest, it’s best tackled when you’re comfortable with mid-level combat.
