Here’s a walkthrough of the typical steps you must take to finish the Howling Fields Wolf Den:

Step 1: Interact with the corpses

Examine the dead bodies around the marker — this triggers the wolf companion to emerge from the den.

Step 2: Pursue the wolf

The wolf will run off following a scent toward a nearby Trapper Camp or enemy encampment. You’ll need to chase it — often by horse — to keep up.

Step 3: Clear the enemy camp / rescue other wolves

At the destination, you'll find enemies guarding cages holding trapped wolves. Defeat all the hostiles, unlock the cages to free three wolves, and eliminate reinforcements.

Step 4: Watch the cutscene/den completion

Once done, a short cutscene plays showing the wolves interacting with the den. The den is then flagged as completed.
