Locating the Cold Lake Den
The Cold Lake Wolf Den is located in the Teshio Ridge region, east of Sarobetsu Lake, and slightly south of the cliff edge trail that overlooks the frozen waters. You can reach it by traveling northeast from Teshio Ridge Fast Travel Point, following the path that cuts through a patch of pine forest leading toward the icy lake shore. You’ll notice wolf tracks and scattered corpses on the snow before the den entrance—this marks the start of the event.

How to complete Cold Lake Wolf Den
Here are the steps to complete the Cold Lake Wolf den in Ghost of Yotei:
Step 1 – Reach the Cold Lake area
Head to the eastern shoreline of Sarobetsu Lake. The Cold Lake Wolf Den lies between two frozen ridges, marked by a few ruined wooden crates and carcasses nearby.

Step 2 – Investigate the corpses
Examine the dead bodies found near the den. These trigger the encounter, hinting that wolves attacked the Trapper scouts nearby. After inspection, a single wolf will appear.

Step 3 – Follow the wolf
Once the wolf emerges, it will briefly howl and start running through the forest trail. Follow it—either on horseback or by foot—toward a nearby Trapper encampment.

Step 4 – Clear the Trapper camp
You’ll find 6–8 Trappers armed with spears and bows. Use stealth to thin them out first. Smoke Bombs and explosive arrows are very effective in this section.

Step 5 – Free the captured wolves
After defeating the Trappers, locate and open the wooden cages holding the trapped wolves. Interacting with the cages completes this sub-objective.

Step 6 – Collect your rewards
After the cutscene, you’ll automatically receive Predator Hides ×3, a Wolf Fang Charm piece, and a minor Legend Increase. The den will be marked as “cleared” on your map.
