General tips for all Shrine climbs in Ghost of Yotei

  • Upgrade your stamina and unlock the grappling hook as soon as possible—many shrine climbs require long vertical stretches and swinging across gaps.
  • Pause at safe ledges to let stamina recover if the climb is particularly long. Manage stamina expenditure by carefully timing jumps and grapples.
  • Heal up before starting difficult climbs, and carry additional healing items in case you miss a jump or need to recover from environmental hazards.
  • Scan the landscape from shrine summits with your spyglass, as these high points reveal more routes and can identify the next objective, spring, or collectible location.
  • Take your time during platforming sections; rushing can lead to mistakes like missing grapples, which may set you back or cause unnecessary damage.
  • Familiarize yourself with each shrine route before attempting speed runs, as learning where hazards or tricky spots are will boost efficiency on repeat climbs
