And here we go with the first AOSP ROM based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the Galaxy Tab S 10.5. It has only been a couple of days since Google released the source code for Marshmallow into AOSP (Android Open Source Project), so this pretty quick for the Tab S 10.5 to get a taste of Marshmallow. Kudos to Schischu!
The ROM is pure vanilla Android Marshmallow based on AOSP 6.0.0r1 (release candidate 1). And as you’d expect from any AOSP ROM’s first build, this one also has a number of serious bugs that are enough to hold you off from installing it to your Galaxy Tab S 10.5.
Below’s the list of things that are broken on this ROM:
- Modem / Phone
- GPS
- Camera
- SDCard not shown using USB MTP
- …plus more not yet discovered issues
This obviously isn’t a Marshmallow ROM you’d want to use as a daily driver. But of course, we aren’t going to stop you if just want to try Android 6.0 Marshmallow on your Galaxy Tab S 10.5 T805.
Download the ROM from the XDA thread over here. And don’t forget to say thanks to the developer.
Happy Androiding!
