In yet another series of first for the Korean giant, Samsung, Samsung devices Galaxy S8 and S8+ have received ANSI/UL 110 certification for being environment-friendly. These are the first smartphone devices from any OEM that have achieved this hallmark.
Recently, American National Standard approved ANSI/UL 110 Standard for sustainability for mobile phones. Today, UL Environment, a division of UL (Underwriters Laboratories) announced ECOLOGO Gold Certification for the Samsung S8 and S8+.
While the ECOLOGO Certification to ANSI/UL 110 has three certification tiers: Bronze, Silver, and Gold, Samsung has achieved Gold certification for its devices.

Samsung S8 and S8+ were launched in March at Samsung’s Unpacked 2017 event in New York. While S8 features 5.8-inches display, the S8+ measures 6.2-inches. Both the devices run on 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory coupled with 4-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC.
Meanwhile, Samsung recently launched its 6GB/128GB variant in India, followed by its initial launch in Hong Kong and Korea.
