As promised, Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users in Canada can now download and install the latest Android 8.0 Oreo software on their handsets. The update comes a few days after it went live in the U.S. and even though the initial rollout in the latter market that saw the OS hit Verizon Wireless units has since been halted, those on AT&T are still receiving the update. Verizon has also resumed the rollout and hopefully, there won’t be any other surprises.
In Canada, the update is rolling out with software version G930W8VLU3CRE3 on the Galaxy S7 while those using the curved edge version are receiving software version G935W8VLU3CRE3. These are huge updates weighing in at about 1.4GB, so make sure you have a stable Wi-Fi connection before attempting to download the OTAs.

Speaking of which, OTA updates may take a few days before all Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge units receive the download notification. While it’s recommended that you wait for the OTA notification, you can still try forcing the update via Settings > About phone, but once again, make sure you have a stable internet connection.
