A new geekbench listing has come to our notice carrying the model no. of SM-G9300 — which we think is the Galaxy S7 for China. The Galaxy S6’s model no. is G920, and in China, it’s G9200.

Like you, we expected some bold and skyscrapping benchmarks from the listing, but that’s not the case.

The multi-core score improves around 23% from a random Galaxy S6 Edge listing we took from the site, while the bump in processing power of single core remained modest at just 4.6%.

Actually, there is no change in the processor, apart from the increased capacity of 1.6 GHz, compared to 1.5GHz in S6 Edge.

Could this be the smaller Galaxy S7, which is in fact a Galaxy S6 at heart with new design principles Samsung decided for the S7 series of devices? What do you think?

This is fitting too. Among the rumored 3 Galaxy S7 sets to be launched next year — Happy New Year, btw! — the littlest one, with display of 5.1″, should be carrying the base model no., which has to be G930.

The S7 Edge model could be 5.5″ one, with model no. of G935. Lastly, we could have the Nexus 6-like phablet Galaxy S7, carrying the model no. of G938 — maybe it will be labeled Galaxy S7 Edge, and will carry the 6.0″ display.
