Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Note Edge, A5 2017 and A5 2016 get OTA update with July security patch

Even before the month ends, Samsung is making sure that most of its devices receive the monthly security patch. Keeping this in mind, the Korean giant has started rolling out security patch update for the month of July to four devices.

Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Note Edge, A5 2017 and A5 2016 are receiving the new software update over the air. The update is arriving as build number G928GUBS3CQG1 to Galaxy S6 Edge Plus while Galaxy Note Edge (China) is receiving the update as build number N9150ZCS1CQG1.

On the other hand, both the 2016 and 2017 variants of Galaxy A5 are also receiving the update. While Galaxy A5 2016 gets the update as build number A510FXXU4CQG1, Galaxy A5 2017 is receiving the update as build number A520FXXU2AQG6.

As is the norm with OTA updates, it may take a while to appear on your device. Alternately, you can check manually by heading to Settings > About device > System updates. However, before installing the update ensure that your handset is connected to a WiFi network and is at least 50 percent charged.
