Samsung is now seeding a new software update to the Galaxy S4 LTE handset over-the-air.

The update is arriving with the firmware version I9505XXUPQG1 and installs the July security patch on the device which should add an additional layer of security to it.

We would recommend you to download the update over a Wi-Fi network to stay away from unnecessary data charges. You can, of course, download it over the cellular data too.

The new software update has already been rolled out by the company and should reach your device anytime now.

If, in case, you haven’t received the update notification already, head to Settings > About phone > Software update.

Before installing the update on your phone, however, ensure you have enough charging left on your handset (at least 50%) and back up your personal data for it can come quite handy should things go south.
