Samsung’s announcement that they won’t be showing off the Galaxy S3, the successor to their best-selling and powerful Galaxy S2 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) this February came as a disappointment and broke the hearts of many. People were waiting with bated breath to get a glimpse of it, but they won’t be able to due to Samsung’s decision to delay the occasion so they could reduce the time between the device’s announcement and the official launch. While we respect that sentiment, it still doesn’t make us feel much better.
Well, for those waiting for more info on the S3, here’s something that should satisfy their hunger a little. The Samsung Galaxy S3, according to the new info, will be released in 50 ‘markets or cities’ simultaneously. Now that should set a precedent for big releases for sure. Not only that, the S3 will supposedly feature a massive 4.8″ screen, which will make some happy, and some will probably just shake their heads. Details on the screen technology used are however not known as of now, but we guess it will be something revolutionary again.
And for those who have an issue with Samsung using plastic on all their phones, flagship or mid-end, rumor has it that the back of the Galaxy S3 will be entirely made of ceramic. Again, that’s something that’s probably unheard of, but we’ll have to wait and see if it’s true.
Previously rumored specs include a quad-core Exynos processor, Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 running out of the box, LTE (4G) support and a 12 megapixel camera. Other specs will probably be just as good. Of course, we’ll be on the lookout for more news on the S3, so keep holding your breath!
