While the Super AMOLED Galaxy S (i9000) phones around the world are having fun with the leaked Android 2.3 ROMS — with the official release imminent too — the users of super LCD screen equipped Galaxy S were left to nothing but feel jealous about it. And regret their decision about not getting the sAMOLED variant while it was available. But mother Samsung knows it’s not fair to prejudice between the variants of its bestseller device and thus, there is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread update in the cards for i9003 (super LCD devices) devices too. The expected release date of the update, as told on Samsung’s official Facebook fan page — check out the screenshot below) is 2nd week of July — which is not soon, agreed, but it’s good to see it in works.
Now, since we’ve already seen Android 2.3.3 ROM (XWJVB) leaked for the i9000, one can expect the July update to feature at least Android 2.3.3, if not the latest Android version for phones, Android 2.3.4.
By the way, since this comes from the Samsung Mobile’s Indian FB page, it’s not clear when European and other Asian countries would receive Android 2.3 update. But it can be rightly expected before or around July, since experience shows all updates of Samsung has been thrown to European Kies way earlier than Indian counterparts.
