It’s called MIDNOTE ROM, and comes from Italian developer maxicet of XDA forums. The ROM, as mentioned above, has been cooked using the LP1 base, and includes some tweaks and changes, is pre-rooted, includes CWM recovery, and comes sans all of the Chinese elements which may have been there in the base firmware. Read on, to see how you can get Midnote ROM installed on your Note.

Pre-Installation Requirements/Tips
- Rooted Galaxy Note with Clockworkmod Recovery installed
- This procedure will wipe all your apps, data and settings (but it will NOT touch your SD card, so don’t worry about those). Backup your Apps and important data — bookmarks, contacts, SMS, APNs (internet settings), etc. This Android backup guide would help you.
- Make sure the battery is sufficiently charged. At least 50% is recommended.

- Now select Wipe data/factory reset, and on the next screen Select Yes-Wipe Data
- Next scroll to “Install zip from sdcard” and select it. Next Select “Choose zip from sdcard”. Scroll to the “MIDNOTE2.0_ICS_NEW.zip” file you transferred in Step 2 and select it. This will start installation of the Midnote ROM

Excellent ROM with only small glitches such as the processor speed drops to 1200 Mhz due to the Chinese version I9220 instead of the 1400 Mhz of the International GT-N7000. It is very smooth and polished with nice features like the opening screen when booting up is flashy. It is great that it is rooted and installs with CWM.
Congratulations to Maxicet the Italian master.
