Samsung is rolling out an OTA update for the Galaxy Note 2 in India, updating it to firmware version XXALJ3. Around 12.5 MB in size, it mainly seems to be an update for some of the pre-loaded apps, including S Note, Polaris Viewer, and Flipboard, though one user reports that it also updates the default Samsung keyboard with the ability to swipe for typing, similar to what the Swype keyboard does.

For those with a rooted Galaxy Note 2, you will still be able to officially update as long as you are on a stock recovery, though root access will be lost after the update. If you haven’t received the notification for the update yet, be sure to check for it manually from the Settings » About phone menu on your phone. Also expect a full step-by-step guide from us for updating manually very shortly.
