When word got out that the Galaxy Note 2 was headed to AT&T, T-Mobile, Bell Canada and Sprint in the US, with screenshots from the AT&T variant leaked as well thanks to BriefMobile and their source, Verizon’s name was noticeably missing from the list of carriers. But now a screenshot apparently taken on the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 has leaked too, indicating that Verizon will also be getting the Galaxy Note 2.
BriefMobile has now got a screenshot from the “SCH-I605”, which their source claims is the model number of the Verizon Galaxy Note 2. The specs of the Verizon model will be the same as the international variant and the one headed to other US carriers, which include the quad-core Exynos 1.6 GHz processor, 5.5″ 720p Super AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel rear and 1.9 megapixel front camera, 16/32/64GB storage options with expandable microSD slot, and 4G LTE connectivity (only HSPA+ on international variant). It will also be running the latest version of Android – Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.
The device will however have Verizon badging while otherwise looking similar to the international model, with BriefMobile claiming that even the home button will be branded. One can only hope Verizon will not lock the bootloader on the Galaxy Note 2 like they did with the Galaxy S3 and not cause undue trouble to the development community.
BriefMobile also says that the Galaxy Note 2 will be headed to US Cellular as well, which means it will be available on all the major carriers in the US, which is a nice precedent that Samsung is setting with their new devices. Hang tight for more details on all this pending further info.
